Redbud Syrup
The flavor of redbud blooms is a pleasant blend of lightly sour with sweet pea undertones. When made into syrup this flavor morphs into one similar to cotton candy!

Ingredients - 1 cup fresh redbud flowers
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1 cup sugar (or 2/3 - 3/4 cup honey)
Steps Gather redbud blossoms & place them into a pint jar. Bring water to a boil & pour into a jar with flowers. Cover jar & steep for 30 minutes to an hour. Strain out flowers. Stir in sweetener. Gently warm the infused water if needed to dissolve the sweetener. Store in the fridge for up to a month.
Uses Drizzle over breakfast pastries, waffles, pancakes, french toast, ice cream. Stir into teas.
Tip - if using honey to sweeten, you'll want to do the longer steep time. Honey will hide the redbud flavor somewhat.
