Cure-All Syrup

Ingredients

  • 1 medium organic onion

  • 1 head of organic garlic

  • 1-2 inches of fresh ginger root

  • 1/2 inch or so of fresh turmeric

  • 1 TBS black peppercorns

  • 2-3 organic lemons, depending on size

  • raw honey to fill jar & submerge

Directions

Wash & dry lemons. Peel onion, garlic, ginger root & turmeric. If you have organic ginger & turmeric, you can wash instead of peeling. Coarsely chop onion, lemon, ginger & turmeric. Place all ingredients into a quart size glass jar. They should come up to the neck of jar or close to it. You'll want to leave a little room at the top. Fill jar up to the neck with honey. It will take a bit for the honey to work down into all the nooks & the air to be pushed up & out.

Once the honey is covering all ingredients, put a lid on the jar and set it on the counter. If you need it quick, it can be used in about 6 hours. We let our jars sit for 1-2 days if we can so more of the juices/oils get infused into the honey. If letting the jar sit for awhile, you'll want to flip it twice a day to make sure the floaters stay coated in honey. Burp the jar once a day to release press build up from the carbon dioxide.

Strain the bits out & they can be added to your next crockpot chicken for great flavor. And there's no waste! We keep our syrup in the fridge, but you can also leave it out if you don't want it cold. The honey is a natural preservative.

To use: Take straight or add to hot water for the "theraflu" affect.
