Foraging Through Purple Lenses

The past week was full of foraging for us. My reputation as an enthusiastic forager of edibles is gaining enough momentum that family & friends are letting me know when they have edibles that I might want. And even introducing me to their friends that have forage-friendly land. Gotta say, I'm loving it! I spent several days visiting others yards and at the end of the week noticed that there seemed to be a running theme with the color purple. Being an energy healer, I decided to look up the symbolism of purple. Whether or not color symbolism holds any merit... who's to say. So just for fun or maybe drawing attention to a recurring theme, I thought it was interesting to see what parallels there were.

Nature's classroom

Some tidbits that are constant among many sites:

Purple combines the stability of the blue color and the energy of the red. Both colors contain energy and strength from the color red, with spirituality and integrity from the color blue. The colors symbolize the union of body and soul, which creates a balance between our physical and spiritual energies.

This peaked my interest because my favorite color happens to be purple. And, my kids favorite colors are blue & red. Hmmm... Striving for balance is also a recurring theme in my life. I'm a big dreamer and also appreciate the need for having roots.

It ensures harmony of the mind and the emotions and contributes to mental balance and stability, peace of mind, a connection between the spiritual and physical world, and between thought and action. Getting outside in nature is therapeutic for me & both kids, reminding us to reset. To stop and smell the roses no matter what life happenings there are.

If you're into chakras, purple is associated with the Crown Chakra. This chakra is the main coordination center of the body and ensures you are connected to universal sources of energy and denotes transformation. As I immerse myself in the world of edibles, I find that I'm needing to let go of many of my old ways to fully embrace & appreciate this newly-found treasure trove.

So, whether or not color symbolism is noteworthy, I found it interesting & fun to apply to our circumstances. This was our week in pictures:
